Date Nut Loaf Ingredients:
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Cup Sugar
- ½ Cup Crisco Butter
- 1 Cup Sifted Flour
- 1 lb. Chopped and Pitted Dates (About 3 Cups)
- 4 Cups Pecan Halves
Directions:
Beat together the eggs, sugar and oil. Add the dry ingredients and mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured pan (9x5x3) and place in a cold oven. Turn on oven to 300 degress F and back for 1½ – 2 hours or until cake is firm in the middle.
Let cool completely. Remove from pan and slice with a very sharp knife. Or, wrap and freeze for slicing and serving later. Makes a 3 pound loaf.
